Henrik E. Rasmussen is a composer of scores with mixed notation. He studied Music Therapy from 1983-88 at the University of Aalborg. Meanwhile he received piano lessons from Birgit Gürtler at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg. His final thesis dealt with the abstraction of the quality of the touch when creating a tone. In 2003 he received a Masters of Art in Music Therapy.
The experimental activity with improvisation and composition began during his time at the university. He began to perform with the Intuitive Music Group in 1990. Until now, the sources of inspirations for his works come from various experiments with sound and concerts, teaching, musictherapeutic practice, and performing as a pianist in different connections. In 2001 he performed with Carl Bergstrøm-Nielsen, Yu Wakao, Luca Miti and Mauro Orselli in Rome. In 2002 he was invited to the Intuitive Arts Festival Fortalicje in Zamosc, Poland, together with the Intuitive Music Group where his piece "So much to hear" was highly acclaimed by the Polish audience. Since 2000, he has co-organised Denmark's Intuitive Music Conference, an annual meeting for composers, improvisors and other intuitive artists.
