The film will see its world premiere in June 2011, but already now you can get a peek into the core of the creation when the two artists have opened a window to their creative process.

    Simon Steen-Andersen's work Ouvertures for Gu-Zheng and symphony orchestra won the Internation Rostrum of Composers in Lisbon. The work will now be broadcasted by all the national radio stations of Europe and outside. Ouvertures is one of the 34 year-old cosmopolitan composer's greatest successes so far. After its world premiere in Shanghai in 2008 it has been performed by several orchestra worldwide; it has been played at the ISCM Festival in 2009, and recently it was performed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, also in Shanghai.

    The Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen (34) is about to pass a milestone in his growing international career. On Tuesday, May 4, his new work for Gu Zheng solo and symphony orchestra, Ouvertures, will be premiered by the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra during the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.The new work builds on to another composition, premiered in 2008, also in Shanghai, which won the young composer not only a 25,000 USD award, but also a commission form the French Radio for this week’s new work.

Edition Samfundet composers Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen and Christian Winther Christensen are present their compositions Song for Piano and Ensemble (April 30th) and A A Fall from Perfect Ground (May 3rd) on April 30th and May 3rd.

    The controversial chamber opera Anorexia Sacra by Line Tjørnhøj was premiered March 20th in an Opera Vista production in Houston. With words like "This is a world premiere that you simply cannot afford to miss", and "Danish composer Line Tjørnhøj has finally gone where no other composer has ever thought or dared to go", the review goes in depth with the performance and thw work.The opera is showing again at the Live Oak Friends Meetinghouse on Saturday March 27th at 7.30 PM.

    Jexper Holmen is in focus next week as the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival presents three major works by the Danish composer in an exclusive portrait concert. The concert shows the 38 years old composer as a reformer of the role of the accordion instrument in art music – all three works are pivoted around the unusual instrument and open a whole new world of sound and musical experience. The concert features the world premieres of Eris as well as performances of Lullabies and Oort Cloud.

    The Danish Music Harvest Festival starts tomorrow, Tuesday November 3rd. This year's edition of the festival features several works by Simon Steen-Andersen, among those his highly celebrated mini concerto for the Chinese Gu Zgheng and symphony orchestra, Ouvertures (2008). The piece won the first prize in the prestigious Shanghai Spring International Music Festival in May 2008, and was most recently performed during the World Music Days in Gothenburg in September this year.

    Edition Samfundet composers Simon Steen-Andersen and Jesper Koch are both prominently represented with orchestral works on this year's edition of the World Music Days in Sweden. The festival began this weekend, September 24th, in the the city of Visby, then moves on to Växjö on September 28th and finishes with a four day program in Gothenburg starting on October 1st. Steen-Andersen's and Koch's works are both performed in Gothenburg on October 1st and 2nd respectively.

    Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, singers Signe Asmussen and Helene Gjerris, the ATHELAS Sinfonietta Copenhagen and conductor Sebastian Gottschick form the international dreamteam as the music of Matthias Ronnefeld is programmed together with works by Schubert and Ives on October 2nd. The concert is in memoriam of the composer who would have celebrated his 50th anniversary this year, had he not been taken away much too early, at the age of only 27 in 1986.

    Rune Glerup's dust encapsulated #1 (percussion and live-electronics) will see its world premiere on Wednesday September 23rd at 7.30pm in an Esbjerg Ensemble concert production. Christian Martinez is soloist and the concert can be enjoyed in a live radio broadcast, if you can't make it to the concert at the Vestjysk Musikkonservatorium.
