Flashback Friday June 14

Last Friday we went to a great, big partner meeting concerning the Carl Nielsen celebrations in 2015. Odense Symphony Orchestra hosted the event, where a lot of Nielsen enthusiasts, music people and other good folks were gathered to inspire each other. The meeting included Nielsen music performed by such different performers as the classical pianist Anne Øland, the folk trio Zenobia and a children’s choir. We are sure that 2015 is going to be a fun year and we look forward to contributing to the celebrations.

Ejnar Kanding in New York

This weekend the renowned TRANSIT ensemble hosts the DoubleBill Festival in New York and Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composer Ejnar Kanding is on the programme.The festival runs from May 25 to 27 in Brooklyn, New York and presents a string of prestigious ensembles and composers. On May 25 at 8 pm the talented ensemble Transit premieres Ejnar Kanding’s Texture 1 for clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, cello and live electronics. The performance takes place at Actors Fund Art Center in Brooklyn.

This week we have been preparing for the Danish Composers’ Society’s big birthday bash this Saturday. The Society is celebrating its 100th anniversary and in that connection they celebrate with an entire day of music from the past 100 years. We are very proud to be a part of such a grand celebration and are well represented both by old and significant works and brand new premieres.
