    BEINTA will be given its first performance on Saturday 30 April at 15:00 by the Aarhus Sym­phony Orchestra with composer/singer Anna Katrin Øssursdóttir Egilstrøð, conductor Jesper Nordin and RAMMATIK, who have created visuals for the work.

    In collaboration with the stage director and mezzo-soprano Lore Lixenberg, the trio and the two British composers Rolf Hind and Richard Thomas, German Helmut Oehring and Danish Niels Rønsholdt have created a production in two parts with reflections on the archetypal figure of ‘the Fool’ with references to Shakespeare, Hindu culture and modern stand-up comedy.     The libretto has been written by the author and musician Kristian Leth (b. 1980). The opera, with the title Dark Matters, will be premiered in the spring of 2018 on the Old Stage of the Royal Theatre by the opera soloists of the Royal Theatre, the Royal Danish Orches­tra and the Chorus of the Royal Opera.

    Christian Winther Christensen’s double concerto Chromatische Weltmusik [Ohne Fremde Elemente] should have been premiered in 2013, but the performance was cancelled due to the storm “Bodil”. The premiere instead took place in 2014 at the Austrian festival Klang-spuren.

    The composer Gunnar Berg was inspired by Japanese woodcuts depicting the Japanese Mount Fuji. Last year Signe Asmussen and Erik Kaltoft released the CD “Danish Songs with Far Eastern Inspiration” at the label CDKlassisk. The recording has given rise to a series of concerts, which include Zehn japanische Holzschnitte.
