    The renowned Danish composer Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen has for many years been published by two different publishing houses; Edition·S – music¬sound¬art and Edition Wilhelm Hansen. Now they have come to an agreement on gathering his works at one place.On the occasion of Gudmundsen-Holmgreen’s 80th birthday in November 2012, Edition·S, Wilhelm Hansen and the composer himself have agreed on the fact that Wilhelm Hansen will take over the works that have been published by Edition·S taking effect as from July 1, 2012.

    It is officially summer! We've just experienced the longest day of the year and have many long summer nights in front of us.This means that the art music scene will go on holiday (except for Hindsgavl Festival July 8-19, 2012 with lots of Edition·S composers on the programme) and so will we. The office will be closed in weeks 29 and 30 (July 16-27) and we'll be back Monday July 30.

    Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composer Christian Winther Christensen received the prestigious award from Poul and Sylvia Schierbeck tonight at the reception after the performance of Schierbeck’s only opera Fête Galante.The Schierbeck award is given to musicians, conductors and composers who contribute to sharing Poul Schierbeck’s music and support music theoretical works about Schierbeck.This year, the lucky receiver is Christian Winther Christensen, who was awarded 35.000 kr.

    Next week Bill Morrison, Simon Christensen and his band Kundi Bombo travel to Washington DC where the collaborative art film will be performed live at the National Gallery of Art.TRIBUTES – Pulse is in the middle of a world tour. First it went to the Festival Du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal, followed by the International Film Festival Rotterdam, then Buenos Aires for the BAFICI festival and now it is time for Washington DC.

    The Belgium sound artist Stijn Demeulenaere and SNYK are in the middle of building a new installation called Soundtracks, and they need your help to finish it.The idea behind Soundtracks is to create an archive of memories of sounds. Soundtracks wants to research what kind of sounds are memorized and how they are memorized. Can we replay those sounds in our heads, or do we only remember the event of the situation; the contour of the sound?

    The organisation and house ‘Platform 4’ in Aalborg, Denmark, is an independent user-driven multi-purpose venue that experiments within the art and technology frame. On May 31 to June 2 Edition·S will be represented at this venue by Line Tjørnhøj, with her installation work Portrait – between child and adult, a collaboration between Tjørnhøj, digital media artist Signe Klejs and anthropologist Birgitte Stampe.

    Next week the annual Carl Nielsen competition sets off in Odense, Denmark, during which violinists of all nationalities under the age of 30 will be contesting.In the second round the competitors will be performing renowned composer Ib Nørholm’s piece Ménage à trois, composed specially for the competition. Menage à trois is a humoristic observation of a musician, his violin and the bow, for unaccompanied violin.

    Nordic Darkness and Electric Light is the poetic title of a concert in Paris next week, which is part of the annual Festival Extension for new music and sound art. The concert is a meeting between the French Ensemble Aleph and the Swedish ensemble Curious Chamber Players, and on the programme is a number of Swedish, French, Spanish, Romanian and Danish composers.
